Nurture the joy of reading and share the power of knowledge at High Point’s Public Library, one of the top 10 public libraries in North Carolina. The Library is home to more than 330,000 books, videos, audios and magazines, and hosts over 1,800 programs annually ranging from Storytime in the children’s room to business planning seminars.
Discover some unusual family fun adventures: - Laugh at getting lost in 10.5 acres of a twisting, turning, almost never-ending walking corn field Maze Adventure.
- Mine your own gemstones at Gem Dig or pan for gold at Castle McCulloch.
- Take an ecotour or walk on a 3D mapscape of North Carolina at the Piedmont Environmental Center
- Get a close up view of the planets, stars, comets and other celestial bodies at the Cline Observatory.
- Step-back into the 18th Century at High Point’s Museum & Historical Park and watch a blacksmith at work or try your hand at candle dipping, butter churning, corn grinding, quill pen writing and historic games.
- Come face-to-face with a 36-foot Tyrannosaurus rex model and treat the whole family to a hands-on museum and planetarium adventure at our neighboring Greensboro's Natural Science Center.
- Ride a bike with Mr. Bones, the bicycling skeleton at the Millis Health Education Center.
- Learn ballroom and line dancing, cross stitch and ceramics, canasta and bridge at High Point’s Roy Culler Senior Center.
