The list ranked 100 cities on their affordability by analyzing information such as the overall housing market and affordability, real estate taxes, travel time to work, job forecasts, and unemployment rates.

DALLAS, TX , December 3, 2009 - High Point and Piedmont Triad Partnership representatives attended the Global Supply Chain and Logistics Summit in Dallas. “Logistics and distribution operations are among the most active sectors for new and expanding activity in our region,” according to PTP President Don Kirkman. The delegation met “with companies to introduce them to the assets and advantages of the Piedmont Triad and to raise awareness” of the region.

Expansion Solutions Magazine named High Point a winner of its 2009 Awards of Excellence – in the distribution / warehousing category. The awards in 2009 and in 2008 recognize areas that have “made exceptional progress in economic development by successfully recruiting, retaining, and growing businesses” in that industry sector.

RENO, NV , October 6, 2009 - For the eighth year in a row, an annual report of the High Point Economic Development Corp. has won a major award. In fact, in 2009, HPEDC’s annual report has won two awards. On October 6, the High Point annual report won the “Excellence in Economic Development” award at the annual conference of the International Economic Development Council held in Reno, Nevada. In August, that annual report also won an award from the Southern Economic Development Council at its annual conference in Point Clear, Alabama.
